X-ACTO Economy Three hole punch with comfort grip - clamshell, Assorted Colors (1549) X-ACTO Economy Three hole punch with comfort grip - clamshell, Assorted Colors (1549)

It is certainly low tech, just like me. Works like a charm and is low cost. What's not to like.

I write books and so I need to punch three holes to put text in a notebook. I have two of these things and they work great, but be sure to empty the dots because it slows down if you don't. To remove you just go outside, slip off the plastic dot cover and let-em fly. It's a super-duper product at a super-duper price.

Does the basic job. As long as you don't try to cram 50 pages in at once, the X-ACTO will cleanly keep little papers compilable. Keep it on your desk.

The product works fine, but you can find the same thing for cheaper. In addition, it does not punch very much paper at a time.

This three hole punch is just what I wanted. It meets my needs perfectly. I would buy it again.

Pigma Sensei Manga Drawing Pen Set Pigma Sensei Manga Drawing Pen Set

Reviews

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing these pens from a local store (sorry Amazon). As a beginner manga artist, I was amazed at the quality of the pens and the difference they made with my drawings. The ink dries rather quickly and pencil lines can be erased without fear of smudging.

This Manga Drawing kit provides all the basic tools needed to get started in a compact value package. The mechanical pencil and eraser are handy for laying down the initial outlines. The 0.6 mm and 1.0 mm nibs are particularly useful for drawing caricatures at a good speed. The 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm are perfect for adding small details. While the plastic nibs might wear down visibly under heavy usage, the larger nibs will continue to reliably produce clearly defined dark strokes. The 0.4 mm unfortunately is not as sturdy and can be damaged rather easily with a heavy hand pressure, so use a light touch for better mileage out of it. Overall a well rounded compact sketching kit.

I purchased this item for my granddaughters who are into anime art and they loved it and immediately drew a series of pictures for me. Thank you.

Mary Poppins [VHS] Mary Poppins [VHS]

Reviews

First of all, I hate "Mary Poppins." It's garbage. It's crap and I hate Dick van Dyke is a bastard, the bloody bastard. He's so stupid and annoying. He's a loser. Hate to sound like the British, but the man is a bloody bastard. He's a piece of trash and I can't stand the man's presence. He stinks up every room he enters. An added bonus: this film is filled with bad and embarassing moments. I hate this movie, it's so stupid and lame and bad. I don't see why people even like this movie, it stinks. it's so horrible. I hate Julie Andrews, she is so annoying. She stinks. She's such a phoney baloney. She's so fakey. She's so annoying too, she really gets on you're nerves. I wish I could pinch her cheekbones or something or slap her fat face. She's so overly cheery and ick. She's a old windbag now, but still irreating. I never bought those kids either, how sweet they are?! Please! They're so fakey. I bet the director had to literally sit down and get it out of em' and they had to act really fakey onscreen. I bet it was a riot. I hate the mother of the children in the movie, she was such a goody-two shoes Disney character. I hated howed the father was always like a captain general, and he was a loser. Old Walt really didn't luck out on this one, this movie is horrible and it spells bad. This movie is bad and it rots. I think that the movie "Nanny McPhee" was much better and a better movie about a nanny changing the lifes of naughty children. This movie was horrible and I hate it and can't stand Julie Andrews. She's irrating.

I have started collecting Disney classic that I watched as a child for my granddaughter. I enjoy watching them with her.

Thanks for sending it punctually and in such perfect condition! We enjoyed this movie a lot!

Mary Poppins (45th Anniversary Special Edition) It was a joy to have my six year old grandson put down his Guns, Light Sabers, and Star Wars Battle gear for a while to actually sit down and watch Mary Poppins with his little sister and I. He laughed and sang right along with us. I also noticed how calm and happy he was afterward.

100 years ago this spring, a magical young nanny named Mary Poppins(Julie Andrews) sat on a cloud, surveying London, and preparing to meet her next charges after receiving an advertisement they created, but which their father had destroyed. Down below, in a pleasant suburb, her long-time friend, Bert (Dick Van Dyke), entertains patrons of a park with a one-man band-performance. Sensing the impending return of his friend, he introduces the unseen audience to the tempestuous Banks household, headed by George Banks, a banker(David Tomlinson), his suffragette wife, Winifred(Glynis Johns), with two boisterous children, Jane and Michael( Karen Doctrice and Matthew Garber), and frequently quarreling domestics(Reta Shaw and Hermione Baddeley). Across the street, the eccentric Admiral Boom(Reginald Owen) keeps things interesting. An irate Katie Nanna(Elsa Lancaster), the children's current nanny, leaves after the children runaway for the umpteenth time, their latest excuse being that they were chasing a runaway kite. Mr. Banks likes order in his life, insisting that everything be in place, and his pipe and sherry be in his hand at a specific time when he comes home, and his children's needs tended to by his wife and household staff, who are to present them to him just long enough for him to "pat them on the head and send them off to bed." He is upset to find the children missing right around the time when he normally does that. But the local constable (Arthur Treacher) brings them home and their latest infraction leads their parents to search for a new nanny. While Mr. Banks would prefer someone solemn and cross for the position, the children write their own advertisement, for a kind, cheerful, and fairly pretty nanny who can have fun with them, and show them a bit more warmth. In reciting their preference to their father, they even point out their desire for someone who will not provoke their worst behaviors by scolding and dominating them. After they go to bed, their father tears up their ad and throws it into the unlit fireplace, where the pieces are picked up by a mysterious wind and reassemble in the hands of Mary Poppins. The next day, after another gust of wind blows away the queue of dour-looking applicants for the job, Mary Poppins arrives with the childrens' ad in hand, much to the bafflement of Mr. Banks, who allows her to begin a trial period with the children, delighted with her initial presentation. But she promises to stay only until the wind changes... Upon entering the nursery, the young nanny almost immediately begins sprinkling stardust on the childrens' lives, removing a plant, coat rack and other items from a carpetbag that appears too small to hold them, and with a dulcet and tuneful tone, turns cleaning up the nursery into a delightful game. Afterwards, she takes them on an outing to the park, where Bert, now working as a screever, greets them. All four are soon magically transported into one of Bert's chalk drawings, dressed stylishly, and enjoying an outing at an outdoor cafe where animated penguins wait on them, they enjoy a carousel ride, and their carousel horses take them to join a fox hunt, and they end up in a derby race, which a flushed Mary Poppins wins, introducing the word, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" to describe her feelings at doing so.They are entertained by pearlies before the rain brings their festivities to an end.To prevent her charges from becoming ill from exposure to the rain, the nanny gives them medicine, and takes some herself, with strawberry, lime cordial and rum punch coming out of one bottle. Her melodious method for getting them to sleep after an exciting day is to sing a song of reverse psychology called "Stay Awake". The next day, the little dog Andrew interrupts their plans to go to the fish monger's by alerting them to the fact that Bert's Uncle Albert(Ed Wynn) is stuck on the ceiling after a laughing spasm set him alight. They join both him and Bert there in a riotous episode. The young nanny's presence brings a cheerful air to the whole household, and even the domestics are on better terms with each other. Mr. Banks, however, is annoyed by the children's constant tales of their adventures with their nanny, complaining that they are no preparation for the practicalities of the real world. After his discussion with Mary Poppins, it is agreed that the children will accompany their father to his bank. In preparation for the next day's events, they are lullabied to sleep with the story of the old bird woman( Jane Darwell)outside St. Paul's Cathedral. Father and son have differing views about spending Michael's tuppence: Mr.Banks believes his son should deposit it in the bank while Michael wants it to feed the birds. The elder and junior Mrs Dawes(Dick Van Dyke and Arthur Malet) are among Bank's colleagues urging Michael to invest the tuppence with them. When the Sr. Dawes takes the coin without Michael's expressed consent, we see that children will be children, and Michael fights to get the tuppence back. The commotion from the incident leads other patrons to misinterpret the situation and there is a panic that temporarily shuts down business. Frightened by the chaos, the children bolt, hurrying into the East London slums, where, after dodging a few potential hazards, they encounter Bert, currently working as a chimney sweep. They tell him what has happened, and before he takes them home, he explains that unlike them, their father has to work most of his problems out for himself, encouraging them to have some empathy for the person whom to them, often seems so foreboding. En route to another suffragette rally, Mrs. Banks asks Bert to clean their chimney and look after the children, since Mary Poppins had a day off.Mary Poppins returns in time to see her charges get magically sucked up through the chimney to the roof, and another adventure begins.Bestriding the rooftops of London, partially by a staircase of smoke, bellowed into existance by Mary Poppins' umbrella, they eventually encounter Bert's fellow chimney sweeps, who entertain them with song and dance until Admiral Boom's fireworks chase them away. As Mr. Banks faces the possibility of dimissal, Mary Poppins makes the children give their father the tuppance. Mr. Banks verbally broods over the likelihood of shattered professional ambitions. But Bert gently reminds the reluctant Banks that his greatest legacy will be his children, and that spending time with them while they're young is also important. Heading to the bank to face the music over Michael's behavior, Mr. Banks is ceremoniously sacked from his job. But suddenly the stories the children told him about their adventures with their nanny are employed to help him through when he is asked to make a statement. The next day, while Mrs. Banks expresses her anxieties over her husband's failure to return after the previous night's appointment, her children are upstairs weeping over their nanny's impending departure. But we will soon see how, metaphorically speaking, the wind has changed for the Banks Family, as Mary Poppins departs, having indirectly influenced even the lives of Mr. Banks' colleagues, and leaving a favorable situation in her wake. And what better way to spend a gloriously windy day but by flying a kite? This intensely colorful film, a sentimental family favorite first viewed by my parents when they were newlyweds, strikes just the right balance between beautiful singing, wit, depth, and sheer joy, so that all generations can delight in this timeless classic.

The Best of On the Road With Charles Kuralt [VHS] The Best of On the Road With Charles Kuralt [VHS]

Reviews

Charles Kuralt was the poet of small town America the way Vin Scully is the poet of Dodger Stadium. Relaxed, warm, folksy and deceptively insightful. He had a way of setting you at ease and somehow convincing you that the entire cosmos could be found in the minutia of this one fleeting moment. His beloved little program, 'ON THE ROAD' (1967-80) in which he traveled the backroads of America in a motorhome to show us the real heart of the country was eagerly anticipated by countless people every weekend - myself included. Once every couple of years, when I need a little lift, I get out my boxed set of THE BEST OF 'ON THE ROAD' WITH CHARLES KURALT' and pop in one of the three 60 minute tapes. I invariably end up watching all three in one sitting. It's as if once I'm on the road, I can't quite convince myself to pull into a rest stop. Just a few days ago I created a new Amazon Listmania List called, 'EXPLORE THE U.S.A.' in which I included this set. And then I felt inspired to view the tapes again, and decided to review them since currently only two other people have. Tape 1 - THE AMERICAN HERITAGE: We start out at the beginning (always a good place to start) when Kuralt takes us to the roaring wind-swept dunes on Roanoke Island, North Carolina and the site that John White and the early English settlers of 1587 decided to call "Home." We see where they lived and ponder the great mystery of their disappearance. Then it's off to Independence Hall in Philadelphia where independence from England was first declared, and where the U.S. Constitution was later hammered out. Kuralt relives those tumultuous times and his sense of awe and admiration is evident. "There were great men in those days. Never from that time to this has so much greatness crowded onto the American stage", he informs us. I for one, agree with him. But then Kuralt nominates his choice for "greatest" and takes us to Monticello, the stately residence of Thomas Jefferson and shows us the very bed that Jefferson passed away on one Fourth of July! Then we go "on the road" again to the survey site of the 1803 Louisiana Purchase. It's funny to hear Kuralt close the segment with the statement that "the French don't talk about it much." In The American Heritage we also get to visit Wyoming's "Register Cliff" on the Oregon Trail; the place of Custer's Last Stand at Little Bighorn, Montana; the old Spanish Missions of California; horseback cowboys in Texas; Dearborn, Michigan and the Henry Ford museum; Tuskegee University and the inspiring story of Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver; and then to the annual Town Meeting in tiny Stamford, Vermont where pure Democracy is practiced. Kuralt closes tape one with the comment: "All these places that we have visited are waiting for you to visit them, too. You'll feel prouder of the country afterwards. We do." Most of these segments were originally filmed for television in the 1970's and so the picture clarity is not all that we've come to expect, and once or twice a trace of political correctness may seep in (afterall, this was a CBS-sponsored program), but these are small prices to pay for such richness that can be enjoyed again and again. Tape 2 - SEASONS OF AMERICA: This time we go on the road with Charles Kuralt to experience the seasons. In Spring it's the "romance" of tapping maple syrup from trees in Vermont; harvesting daffodils in Virginia; at Appomattox Courthouse, where Lee surrendered to Grant, we find the blooming of the pink and white Dogwood's and learn that this is "the most American of trees being native to 40 of our states and native nowhere else on Earth."; then there's the indescribably heartwarming story of the old man of Surry County, Virginia and his 13 acre garden planted simply for the pleasure of others, and the surprising twist at the story's conclusion. In Summer we go tubing on a river in Wisconsin; we participate in the funny, but heartfelt 4th of July activities in the small towns of the midwest, and in the Tom Sawyer Days celebration in Mark Twain's, Hannibal, Missouri. It just doesn't get more "American" than this! Autumn finds us in Pacific Grove, California for the mysterious butterfly migration; Colorado Springs for the pumpkin harvesting by countless school kids at the Venetucci Brothers farm; and of course, Kuralt takes us to New England for the "shower of scarlet, lemon and gold leaves" and wood pile constructing in preparation for Winter. In Winter, the horse, "Babe" takes us for a ride in an 1890 sleigh in Connecticut; in Miller's Mills, New York, we follow the honored tradition of genrations past in cutting and storing pond ice for next July's ice cream social; and we finish the year with the inspiring story of the miraculous Juniper tree in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and its yearly Christmas message to everyone "on the road." Tape 3 - UNFORGETTABLE PEOPLE: Kuralt introduces us to many types of people here, like Bill Patch, who converted his old Nash Rambler to run on corn cobs - gets 3 miles to the bushel. With the price of gas, I'm ready to buy one! But my favorites were from the Carolinas: Jethro Mann, an old black man in Belmont, North Carolina, and Agatha Burgess, an old white woman in Buffalo, South Carolina. Mann, entirely at his own expense, restores old bicycles and loans them out daily to the poor kids in town so that they can all experience the pleasure of having a bike and being on the road. Burgess spends all day, every day, cooking in her small kitchen so that anybody who wants to, can have a hot homecooked meal at a nominal price, and eat it in her own home. It's what she wants to do, and she tells us that she "always gets what she wants", and sagely adds, "But I know what to want." And then there's the wonderful story of the formerly dirt-poor and cotton-picking Chandler family of Mississippi. There's parents Alex and Mary, and their nine children, all who helped one another to graduate from college. We join them for their Thanksgiving celebration and watch as they are all reduced to tears in thanking God for His goodness. THE BEST OF 'ON THE ROAD' WITH CHARLES KURALT is a great set. It should be enjoyed by any viewer, and I think it would make an excellent additon to a homeschooler's library. If you can watch all 3 of these tapes and never once feel the moisture of joy welling up a little in your eyes, then there is simply no warmth left in you. This doesn't just mean that you're dead, of course, but that you've likely been dead for a good long while.

The late CK would be proud to find out that a lot of us folks still admire his work very much. He planted the seeds of kindness and goodness, showing us that there was and is much good in America's heartland. He showed us that most people are good deep down.

This video will reaffirm your belief in the simple goodness and joy that is America. The small town stories about gentle unknown American citizens that keep the spirit of their ancestors alive and well through age old family and community traditions. You'll see maple sugaring, daffodil farms, Tom Sawyer Day celebrations, and those glorious Fourth of July parades across the country. You'll witness the seasons pass across our nation and understand how its regional differences make this country unique. Delightful, funny, and uplifting. Charles Kuralt unaffecting manner brings out the best in people.

Once Upon a Potty for Him [VHS] Once Upon a Potty for Him [VHS]

My son really watched this video intently and seemed interested in what was going on. We are just starting to potty train, but this seems to have broached the subject well and will hopefully continue to help.

I was given the girl version for my daughter several years ago. It had her wanting to go after watching the first time. Of course you have to kind of wait for their lead, for them to clue you in that they are ready to start training. But we LOVED it. The song is catchy and not very annoying.

It's basically just the book on DVD with a "potty song" attached to it. They even "stretch" for time by listing the "cast" of babies. My son enjoyed seeing the familiar character on DVD. However, I wouldn't call this a "stand alone" item... it won't mean anything to your child without the book and/or potty doll. Looks "outdated," but my two year old doesn't care.

The cost of this DVD is ridiculous considering the movie is less then 20 minutes. There is a "parenting section" of the DVD in which Dr. Franel addresses some basic potty training tips that were only useful if you (as a parent) hadn't researched ANYTHING about potty training prior to viewing this DVD. I always take heed to amazon customer reviews but I believe in this instance it let me down. If you are planning on using this DVD to INTRODUCE potty training to your child then this process might work for you, but if your like me and just want to get you child excited about potty training and they've been working on for a while then PASS it up.

I love this video. I bought it for my youngest grandson. His 2 older brothers had it when they were potty training, and they loved it so much, they spent hours watching it. The video got lost, so I just bought it again. It is a very fun video, and definitely keeps their attention. Highly recommended!!

Admit it: you never thought you'd be buying a video with the word potty in the title. But it's been months, and while Junior seems to love his potty, he doesn't actually do anything in it. So you need some inspiration...

The first time I hear the song "The Story" (it was a free single of the week off itunes) I instantly said, "Whoa, who IS THIS???" It quickly became my favorite song of all time! I quickly purchased the album and was not disappointed. Rather I fell in love. This album is my favorite of her three at this point (and I do love all three.) If you buy this album first, you will undoubtably fall in love with her voice, lyrics and melodies. If you already love Brandi then RUN, don't walk to buy this album. This album propelled Brandi to the top of my favorite singers list. She even tops Sarah McLachlan for me now, and that is saying A LOT. Definitely buy this album.

After listening to her sing on "Prarie Home Companion", I purchsed the CD. I can hear the influence of the "Indie Girls" and like her ability to write narrative songs and her ablity to sing in such a wide vocal range.

My wonderful dad didn't have the luxury of listening to very much music, but he did talk about Patsy Cline in an admiring way. I'll be talking about Brandi and Steph Hayes, another incredible recording artist and genius musician. Steph told me about Brandi, something for which I'll be forever grateful. Try mixing their songs in iTunes- a really fine combination. Brandi Carlile is so special... I've been listening to popular music for over 35 years; thought I was too old for anything to affect me the way that this incredible music does. This is so evenly excellent... Words don't begin to describe it, you really need to listen. "Give Up the Ghost" is just as good, in my opinion- I absolutely love them both.

Since the 2008 Newport Folk Festival I have been listening to Brandi Carlile music. As I collect her work it becomes increasingly clear that the emotional stories and passion for song writing increases the happiness in my life. Don't miss this one.

This is an absolutely beautiful album.. she is PERFECT!!! Her songs contain very beautiful melodies that her voice tackles very well. i love it The emotion in her voice is heartbreaking, she is singing beautifully sweet and then like nothing her voice turns into this powerful instrument with such rawness that makes chills go down your spine! she is absolutley wonderful. My Favorite song is Wasted, it's an absolute jem. The Story, Have You Ever, Cannonball Until I Die and Shadow On The Wall are some other absolute DIE-HARD favorites. The're ALL amazing! I Love This woman. BUY THIS ALBUM YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

Cry Baby Cry Baby

I learned at an early age, that for every artist that hits the top, there are 100's, maybe 1000's, that should have but didn't. Garnet Mimms and the Enchanters is surely in the 'should have' group. the songs are good, the vocals are classic. but they never made it to the recognition they should have had...the 'instant recognition' when their songs come on. make sure you have this one.

talk about a lost night collection. This is a beauty from back in the days of early soul, late RnB, with plenty of nodding to the Drifters and Sam Cooke, but, really, is there really any need to take a shot at Janis Joplin, who not only had the good taste to revive the forgotten Garnett Mims classic "Cry Baby" but also sang the devil out of it with just as much, if not more, heart and soul as the man himself. God bless both of them.

Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters are great. Sounds alot like old Solomon Burke, same type of songs, but different voice. Great back up singers, similar to the Raylettes or the Ikettes. Every song is a winner. Once yoo hear the original version of Cry Baby, you'll never want to hear the Janis Joplin vesion again.

Aah yeah ..., how can one mortal soul express desperation, panic, joy and excessive beauty by means of his voice? What mechanism is triggered that singing isn't singing anymore but became sound by itself, coming from somewhere dark, deep and unknown, channeled through the physical body of a man who goes by the name of Garnet Mimms? How is it possible that my girlfriend and me (other race, other continent, other language, other generation) have goosepimples and tears in our eyes every single time we play this CD (about 500 times a year)? Because this CD contains music from the man with the most beautiful voice since the excistence of our galaxy. Cry Baby, One Girl, Wanting You, For Your Precious Love and all the other sacred songs on this peace of art are sung with such incredible intensity that it will leave everybody living or deceased with goosepimples. This CD goes through the barriers of every obstacle known to mankind. Put this on, and you've got SOUL. In my humble opinion, the deepest, the most desperate, the most sincere, the most honest, the most sacred, the soil, the earth, the core feeling that has makes live worth living on this planet. Garnet, thank you.

Very pleased with this CD - we were holding a Hula Girl Party for our daughter, and this music provided the perfect background.

I was excited to see all the fun music so I got suckered into buying it. What a let down! It breaks my heart because it had so much potential. I wish I could find this collection of songs only well done by the original musicians or even a good cover band.

I bought this cd to be played at my 8yr old daughters birthday party. She decided to have a Luau theme. Great music to go with this type of party.

This one was ok, but not my favorite. Try Drews Island Jam, much better.

It was our first Luau Party and the CD was Great!!!!!!

This is a good cd. Sound is good, most songs are also good. I am pleased with this cd. Price was good and deliivery was quick.

This is one of my fav's. It has all their best songs and I like to listen to it all the time. Highly recommend!

There was a lot of good rock music in the '90s. Unfortunately, Sugar Ray does not qualify as such, despite the fact that they were blown to massive proportions and had loads of really big, really annoying hits. You remember them - "Fly," "When It's Over," "Someday," "Answer the Phone," "Every Morning," "Falls Apart," "Under the Sun" - lighthearted, bouncy pop songs with no real substance behind them (or, in the case of "Someday," a downbeat, contemplative ballad with no substance behind it). Now, everyone likes a good pop song, me included. But the genre they fall into is already overcrowded by bands that aren't really any good, and Sugar Ray falls somewhere in between Smash Mouth (excessively annoying, almost to the point where it seems intentional) and Third Eye Blind (decent, but incapable of making a song interesting for more than two minutes or so). And even the bouncy, empty power-pop looks good in comparison to their attempts to rock out ("Mean Machine"). Their stuff is really listenable and all, but what's the point? The Posies and Weezer are far better examples of a power-pop band, and you know how they name-drop Run-D.M.C. on "Under the Sun"? I'd advise you go listen to them instead. Whatever. This stuff just bores me. It's gratingly unoriginal, poorly written, poorly executed pop with some poorly incorporated hip-hop elements. Again, it's better than Smash Mouth, but what isn't better than Smash Mouth? Blerf.

It is truly the best of Sugar Ray. If you like Sugar Ray, this CD won't disappoint.

this collection contains all the Sugar Ray songs worth listening to, and some that are not. after all, this is a cutesy, catchy band with a couple of cutesy, catchy songs and some cutesy, catchy harmonies. in sum, fun fluff (which is what i was after). i only gave it a 4 because it really didn't need to include the "pseudo-hits" that nobody listens to.

Awakened Mind System Awakened Mind System

Reviews

I have several CDs in this series and I enjoy them at work when writing tedious reports.

I bought this based on the great reviews. I recently had surgery on my elbow due to a break and wanted some soothing, healing music to meditate and relax to. The music in itself is very beautiful and I think it could be either relaxing or stimulating depending on the user's mood or the task at hand. It has a very "new-agey" sound (for lack of a better word) as opposed to the sometimes generic "plinky-plunky-happy" meditation music. I hope that makes some kind of sense. :) The first time I listened to this I played it on my iPod as I laid in bed to go to sleep. I began to dose off while still in the first of the two 30-some minute long tracks. What I found interesting was that several times I was awakened by a sudden jump of one of my limbs (literally a leg or arm would involuntarily "jump," waking me in the process). This does NOT normally happen to me, and it wasn't due to any sudden loudness or change in the melody of the music. I also felt this strange alertness when I would wake up. It wasn't that I couldn't sleep, but as another reviewer mentioned it kind of felt like my brain activity was getting stirred up. I don't know how to articulate it perfectly, but let it suffice to say I know it was doing something that most music doesn't! I look forward to seeing what effects extended use of this CD yields. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you decide to play this on an MP3 player you need to make sure to import the files in a format that will retain their original inaudible technology. The standard .mp3 format will compress the files, thereby negating the whole purpose of this particular type of music. If you use iTunes you can do this easily by going to Preferences --> General Tab --> Import Settings... --> and choose "AIFF Encoder" as the file format. Also, be sure to use the right and left earbuds in the corresponding ear as this music is supposed to stimulate different sides of the brain (in other words the music in one earbud varies from the other).

The music is simply beautiful and calming. The changes in my life has been phenomenal since my purchase. I was really only expecting minimal results in helping with my stress and anxiety at work. For over a year I had been suffering from anxiety attacks, depression, and physical and mental stress. To add to my anxiety, I was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus 5 weeks ago. Stress makes the Lupus extremely worse and annoying. I decided to combine some meditation techniques I had researched with the 'Awakened Mind System', the results have been more than I ever could have expected. I smoked 1 pack or more of cigarettes a day for over 18 years. I tried many times to quit without success. Since listening to the CD, I have been 4 weeks without a cigarette and I feel wonderful. Quitting has not been as hard as I thought and the idea of becoming healthier physically and mentally is so exciting. The bouts of depression are gone and I am energized about the future. My meditation sessions with the cd has helped me tremendously deal with the stress at work. When I feel anxious and stressed, I close my eyes, breath, refocus and within seconds my energy and concentration levels are back dealing with the tasks at hand. I've had this external drive for over a week. I bought it so that I could increase the recording capacity on my TiVo Premiere DVR. I'm am very please with it. My Tivo Premiere had a recording capacity of 46 hours in HD, but since I've connected this external drive I now have a recording capacity of 191 hours in High Definition (HD) It is very quiet and I love the shiny look that it has. It's a no brainer to hook it up. I will be buying another for my other Tivo unit.

It's advertised to work with Series 3 and Premier, but though the TiVo HD is in the Series 3 family, my TiVo does not recognize the expander and tech support said it is not one of the supported models.

Rarely have I ever ran into a product that exceeds every expectation I hoped for. This WD DVR expander does just that. I've had it now for over a week and can't be more happy. It is connected to a Directv HR-20 receiver. Now about the hook up! Let me compare in time. It took me longer to walk into my apartment from the parking lot than it took to wire, fire up and have this puppy running. Getting it out of box took longer than the initial hook up. Opening a can of food for my cat took longer than getting the DVR Expander to operate! Simple and quick installation would be an understatement. Now,the dreaded downsize! I did have to reprogram my favorite channels on the HR-20. That did take about 20 minutes. Which was a perfect time to down a cold brew. Directv does not have this new model listed on their "hints and tricks" list for adding an external HD. But hopefully they will shortly. I have recorded 9 HD movies in the last week and have 92% space left. It seems to me I will run out of time to watch recorded movies and programs before I run out of hard drive space. A wonderful, perfect machine to make life better.

If one terabyte of HD space seems like a little overkill, obviously you've never really used your TiVo or DVR. They eat up drive space, and this little beauty is just what the doctor ordered! (Sorry. Too much "Mad Men.") It has a small profile, and one that matches most nice HDTV setups. It works FAST and you kind of forget it's there -- except for all the new stuff you can record and store. Highly recommended at this price.

I use about five other external drives with my Mac Pro. Of them all, this Western Digital My Book is the most well designed, and so far the most quiet. I haven't heard a peep out of it. I`m using it as another back up device, with about 300 gigs of files copied to it already. Plugging it into my Mac Pro and formatting it was done in less than five minutes. I dis- and re-mounted it a few times without a problem. I haven't used it directly with my camcorder because my cam is currently broken. But I have edited video copied to the hard drive, and there was no problem there. The only quibble I have with the hard drive is that it doesn't include a USB port in the back so that another drive or two can be daisy-chained to it. Other than that missing feature, My Book seems great. In the coming months if I have any problems with this device I'll be sure update this review.

Within 24 hours of bringing this product online, one of the two drives failed. Fortunately I configured this as RAID 1. What a disaster if I had lost the 500 GB of data that I had transferred to the drive - would have been a truly irreplaceable loss. The WD Drive Manager alerted me to the problem as drive A failed. Switched to Raid 0 HFS+ automatically. Then the whole array went down - power and all. Case was very warm to the touch. Couldn't get it to power up, thought it might be the power supply (it wasn't). Switched power cords, rebooted the array, drive B mounted Raid 1 HFS+ and WD Drive Manager reported that Drive A was degraded (later it reported Drive A has failed). Can't believe this is due to anything except faulty manufacturing. This is the one failure WD gets. Another one and you're done WD. Note that this product gets high marks without the failure. Plug-and-play easy to use, configuring the RAID 1 was simple, I was up and running in no time. The WD Drive Manager totally did its job. But you can't have a mature product like these drives failing. Amazon handled the exchange well. Shipping me the replacement drive next day, emailing me the RMA on the faulty drive. Prior to contacting Amazon I contacted WD for support. They were quite good too, but I'd have to take the case apart to replace the drive and it would take 3 days to ship me a new naked drive. Nah. And, trying to get the case apart was a hassle - no screws, and the support guy couldn't really help with how to pry it open without damaging the case (which I immediately did - damage the case - gave up on the prying it open). iMac 3.06 GHz Core 2; 4 GB 1067; 500 GB; OSX 10.6.4; 4 TB external (and growing).

Doesn't matter how fast it is because it spins down a LOT, and does not appear to have a setting to turn that off. The spin ups cause constant lockup delays on the explorer.exe windows, even ones that have nothing to do with the drive.

With the enclosed CD, I could not get the drive to install on a PC. I tried three different PC's running three different versions of Windows--XP, Vista64, and Windows7-64. It appears that you need to have an internet connection so that Windows can look for some basic driver updates. (I do not leave my working computers on the internet except as necessary. I like to turn everything off that eats up bandwidth which is becoming more and more difficult since every software package now assumes you are always connected.) Once that happens, It will be recognized. The WD disk manager would not let me install it as anything other than a Raid 1 until I updated the disk manager. The disk with the drive was over a year old and the updated version almost as old. (Thank you very much WD for wasting a couple hours of my time trying to figure out these issues). The last time I bought an Apple formatted drive (2-3 years ago), I did not have these problems. One other issue is that for the first 75% of a drive speeds were goog 70 to 90 from one esata drive to another. But once the drive was about 3/4 full, downloads began to get slower and slower down to USB speeds and lower. I have three of these drives and this happened with the first two drives. The third drive I partitioned into two logical drives. If that solves this problem, I will update this review once I have filled a partition. If any one has any idea as to why this happened, please add a review. What I am doing is consolidating a large number of photos, both raw and working. Some of the working files are in the 2 to 3 gigabyte range, so large drives are quite handy. So I have spent three days transferring files from 8 other external drives with two more drives to go. I probably will need a fourth drive. I am concerned about the heat issues because I will run at least one of these drives all the time since I work off external drives rather than internal drives. The Green issue is important since we are off-grid and run off solar panels. With the newer laptops we have returned to a laptop as the main computer due to the lower power consumption. I prefer external drives so something like a Drobo since I only have to turn on the drives I am using (or would I still be better with a Drobo next drive update time?). Despite all the improvements in Windows, installing some things seems to be about as hard as it was 15 years ago.

I chose this disc as it is pre-formatted for Mac (HFS+) and the RAID configuration can be easily setup in OSX Leopard. I run 10.5.8 and this is the only box I could find that had Leopard supported on the box (others said 10.4.x up and I didnt want to risk it). The Firewire 800 interface was the clincher. My 460gb iTunes library grew too big for my dedicated 500gb external firewire drive. I had it backed up on an identical disc but that meant erasing the backup and copying files for 6 hours every week which was a real pain. The discs were about 3 years old as well so time for replacements. A RAID seemed like the logical solution. Installation was a breeze: Simply install the WD Drive Manager Software, plug in the disc and thats it. I changed the default RAID 0 to RAID 1 with a couple of clicks and got the extra security. I have used Buffalo discs for years and I looked at Buffalo QUAD but they only had USB connection (&eSATA which is not supported on my iMac) and the Buffalo DUO - but that had only USB and Firewire 400. The RAID config can only be changed in Windows unfortunately and they come pre-formatted for windows too. I invested a lot of $ on iTunes and feel more secure having the RAID. I will back it up with Time Machine. From experience the more backups you have the better!

I recently bought a Western Digital My Book Studio II 2 TB version for its RAID 1 and 0 config. But I am unhappy that this device works only on Western Digital drives. Nobody mentioned about this to me earlier, I must consider it to be a slip. The manual does not have all the details about this product. I need tech assistance for most of the issues because of the insufficient documentation. Glad that I did the RAID configuration all by myself and I have never done this before. This is the only simple thing. When I tried to connect it to my iMac, it simply did not recognize this hard drive. Is there a way it will work on an iMac? I now use it on my Windows PC but I prefer it on my iMac.

Average Rating:

Fast, Green and Mac Ready.Quad interface, RAID-enabled, about 30% less power consumption, formatted for Mac. The My Book Studio Edition II treads lightly on the earth and carries big performance for creative professionals...

Kensington 64068F MicroSaver Notebook Lock and Security Cable (PC/Mac) Kensington 64068F MicroSaver Notebook Lock and Security Cable (PC/Mac)

Just wanted to assure interested macbook owners that this product does in fact work with a macbook pro 13" (2009 unibody model) at least in my case. I didn't experience any denting or breakage like a few previous reviewers have complained about. Another reviewer got it right, the trick is to get the t-lock and the other two poles to line up (by twisting the key from the unlock position rightwards), insert it, and turn the key again. Voila, very easy, just don't pull on it too hard or you might get some scratches. If a thief however pulls on it hard enough, I'm not sure how much force the mac body can withstand. I have not been using the product very long, but it seems to be very decent for the price. The cord is just the right stiffness and thick enough to withstand small wire cutters I believe. Now larger wire cutters are a different story, there is no defense against those, but I don't think anybody runs around with industrial size cutters in libraries or wherever you might be using this. I am a bit worried about this anti-tampering locking mechanism though. I don't know what constitutes tampering, and am afraid to mess with it. But I think it should be okay as long as you don't go at it with a lock-pick (something a thief might actually try using).

Bought this for my laptop for a 39 hour train trip because it's just one piece and had a keyed lock; I'm very satisfied. It's easy to use and doesn't add a lot of weight to my laptop bag.

Lock is easy to use. My laptop hasn't been stolen at school yet with the doors always open so the lock must be doing something right. Feels solid, good product.

After reading some of the reviews having to do with MacBooks and this item warping the plastic, I was skeptical. Since the combination lock versions seem to be incredibly unreliable, I decided to give this one a try, it being a reasonably priced lock. I haven't had any problems with it so far, using it everyday for about 2 weeks while at work. It is very easy to use. The only thing you have to make sure is that the main flat part that goes into the slot lines up with the prongs that are on either side. Its sort of hard to explain but once you have it in your hand you will see what I mean. Once the prongs and flat part are aligned, the lock fits easily into the security slot. Just give it one good quarter of a turn, and your mac/pc is safe. I experienced no warping of my MacBook casing, in fact there is a little rubber part that separates the metal lock that the key goes in from your mac, preventing any sort of scratching. Overall a good lock at a reasonable price.

Lock works just like it should. The cable is quite thick and will give you peace of mind when living your laptop unattended.

LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo

Reviews

My year old grandson loves this! This is my second Leap Frog purchase and I am sold. Will be sure to buy more. Even for kids that know the alphabet already, it's so much fun to spin and hear the sounds they create for the various animals. Who knew what an inchworm sounds like! Fun and eduational, different sounds depending on what you set it on...highly recommend!

My 6 month old son loves this toy because he can make it spin himself. When he was learning to sit up, this toy was a big help because we could sit in right in front of him and he could reach it without toppling over. He also could play with it during tummy time. There are 3 different settings and the songs are catchy, not annoying although they do tend to get stuck in your head. The high/low volume option in a nice feature too. Our baby is so proud of himself every time he makes it work. I love how easily and smooth it spins. It does tend to tip over easily, and I frequently have to sit it back up to the correct position. Some of the animal sounds are a little odd and I wish it had more lights, but overall a great toy.

It's really a cute toy. Bought it for my friend's kids for their birthday and I believe they like it. The animal sounds are kind of strange, but its still cute and very educational. Would buy again if needed!

For example, whales don't actually sing whale songs. The sound a whale makes is a splash. Lions don't roar; they say, in a very perky female voice, 'rar!'. Kangaroos and rabbits sound like springs sproinging. Jellyfish sound like bubbles in water. I can't even figure out what the zebra noise is supposed to be. I get that coming up with a sound for jellyfish might be hard, so why'd they choose jellyfish? And for horses that say 'neigh!' and lions that say 'rar!', why not use vaguely realistic sounds instead of the same vocalist who sings the little song that plays while the wheel is spinning? They managed to get a 'bzzz' sound for the bees that's enough to make me reach for bug spray, so it's not that the whole concept is foreign. And god forbid your child gets tired of this toy and wants to move to some other entertainment. This device will make a sound after 15 seconds of sitting idle, so your child can't be lured away by quieter toys like building blocks or books.

My sister left this at my house when my nephew was 6 months old. He loved to play with it & when they went home the little girl I baby-sat would play with it too, she was much younger than he was at the time & she had a lot more time to play with it. Now, both of them are 2+ years old, the thing still works & my 6 month old niece is coming for a visit... I'm certain she'll have fun with it too. Durable toy & kids like it, I think they might be too young to get any educational benefit from it while it's fun for them to play with & then by the time they're learning more it isn't fun anymore. For $14, it's worth it.

LeapFrog Didj Custom Learning Game Nicktoons - Android Invasion LeapFrog Didj Custom Learning Game Nicktoons - Android Invasion

I do not believe in hand held games or video games for children. My mother is the one who went against my wishes and purchased this for my daughter Christmas 2008, that's right 2008. Knowing my feeling on this subject my mother came armed with newspaper articles, e-articles, and an educational magazine. Due to my stubbornness it was an entire year before I loaded the software on my computer. With that being said I am glad my mother purchased this for my daughter (age 8) as I never would. Didj is not a hand held game or video game, it is an awesome educational tool. I love it! The Didj includes a feature on its "Leapfrog Connect" in which I can upload her spelling words and choose her math facts and language arts skills by grade and then again by specific skills. In order to continue to the next level she must answer a series of educational questions, this motivates her because she earns micromods. Micromods are equivalent to money/tokens in which she downloads "extras" for each game. For example, she has downloaded a pet for Sonic and a new computer for Nancy Drew and a Karate move for Spongebob. I have purchased another six educational tools; Nancy Drew, Nicktoons, Neopets, Tinkerbell, Super Chicks, High School Musical and a free download from Leapfrog Jet Pack Heroes. I can't seem to say enough about this valuable educational tool. My daughter is studying her math facts and spelling words without me telling her "It's time to study".

We just found this game at an unbelievable price and well, had to grab it. Boy, am I glad we did! It is FULL of multiplication problems which is what we were needing at the moment. It does a great job in teaching the children how to do multiplication faster and they have to get it right before moving to the next level. What makes this game unique is that there are the three different Nick characters, so it doesn't get boring. It's seen a ton of playtime already and I know it will continue. Besides, when they have to practice Math facts nightly, what a great way to do it! Highly recommend!

There wasn't anything in the game to change the characters. Only had spongebob in the game. I wasn't able to find danny phantom.

My kids love this game, they have spent the most time enjoying it over the other games.

This is the first didj game that kept my son interested and playing - almost too long we had to set limits on his play time. He loves it.

LeapFrog Didj Custom Learning Game Star Wars: The Clone Wars LeapFrog Didj Custom Learning Game Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Again this was a gift for a special little boy and he likes Star Wars so I got this game for him.

Star wars is a math oriented game that is great for grades 1 - 3 and review or refresh of basic math for older kids. More difficult math for upper levels needs a different game. The fun my boys have with this game, they don't even realize they are doing math and learning. They are learning and refreshing so much I am very pleased! I can program the game to specify the areas each child needs to work on (multiplication for my eldest, two digit adding and subtracting with carrying/borrowing for my middle and +/- 0-12 for my youngest) I highly recommend this for fun and or math!

My 7 yo son wanted to play this game on his DiDJ so he saved and finally bought it. When it arrived, he desperately open the box and inserted the cartridge in the game console. A few minutes later he was enjoying , making noices and having fun. The questions provided in this game were something new for him so this keep him excited and inmerse in the game. I asked hime the next day about some of the questions the game showed up and he was able to retain knowledge. That's nice! He's on advance math class :)

My son got the Diji for Christmas this year from Santa and he literally didn't put it down for three days. With the after X-mas sales I got him this game. Along with other parents I worried that it may be too old for him (he is 6) and might be too much of a challenge with the math skills. No, he did just fine. He only asked me for a little bit of help, and thanks to his sister-who got online and spent some of his "credits" he has new challenges and new stuff for all of his games. Way to go Diji, keep the cool games coming and this will stick around for a long time.

I got this game with Sonic for my 6 year old's Didj and although he plays sonic more, he loves this one. This one is a little more difficult so I like that it challenges him more but I don't like the math question options as much. It still is teaching him so it's not all bad, just not my favorite. He still likes to play it even after having it for months and I can go on the computer and choose what questions it asks him to try to keep it at his level.

Book 3 Vol 3 not working properly it freezes up. Was never opened prior to buying. will have to find Vol 3 of book 3 that works

First all you CANNOT watching Book 3 with out have watched Book 1 & 2. There is just sooooo much history that one would need to understand. The do a great job making referance to the history with some dialogue and flashbacks, but you REALLY should just watch the whole series. I have watched all the three books with the kids and Book 3 is a great conclusion to the adventure. It is also fascinating that mean of the fighting styles used come from tradition internal martial arts styles. I would highly recommend this box-set as well as the whole series.

I couldnt find the final book of this series where i live but i love book three it happens to be the best of the whole thing i highly recomene it

The series is great, the image quality on this is much better than the 1st season DVDs, but the bonus commentary tracks that were supposed to be included for the Sozin's Comet episodes are missing. I had Amazon send a replacement, and it was the same case. The 4th disc that is packaged with certain copies of this box set is actually the disc from the separate Volume 4 release, which doesn't have the bonus commentaries.

Product arrived very quickly and in great condition. The price was fair and I'd be glad to buy from this seller again.

Book 3: Fire, Vol. 1 Avatar the Last Airbender: Book 3, Volume 1 is a slightly unusual suite of episodes in the Avatar canon, as the majority of programs are even more comical than usual. Not that the five shows included on this disc lack seriousness: the long-running series now finds young Aang (the once and future avatar destined to reunite the world's four estranged nations) and his traveling companions behind enemy lines in the Fire Nation, disguised as colonists...
